The PHEDx® Philosophy

The active should define the architecture.

PHEDx® was developed to solve a simple but overlooked problem:
not every active ingredient fits into a liposomal system.

When expertise tells you that one solution isn't enough

For years, liposomal delivery has been at the forefront of advanced formulation, and rightly so. When matched to the right active ingredient, it can provide an elegant and highly effective delivery architecture.

At GMPriority Pharma, we have dedicated years to advancing liposomal technology through our proprietary SAIFx® platform, helping brands develop sophisticated formulations based on phospholipid science and nanoencapsulation.

But expertise brings perspective.

The more we worked with complex ingredients, the clearer one fact became:

Not every active ingredient belongs in a liposome.

That isn’t a limitation of liposomal technology.  ⇔  It’s a reflection of formulation science.

Active-First Formulation Architecture

Every ingredient possesses its own unique physicochemical characteristics.

Ξ   Solubility
Ξ   Polarity
Ξ   Particle morphology
Ξ   Surface chemistry
Ξ   Molecular interactions
Ξ   Stability

These properties determine how an ingredient behaves during formulation and how compatible it is with different delivery architectures.

Yet much of the industry has adopted a delivery-first mindset, attempting to fit increasingly diverse ingredients into the same encapsulation technology.

We believe the opposite approach is more scientifically rigorous.

The delivery system should be selected, or engineered, because it suits the ingredient, not because it happens to be fashionable.

That philosophy became PHEDx®.

A different formulation logic.

A different way of thinking

PHEDx® (Phospholipid Engineered Delivery) was developed for active ingredients that are not naturally suited to conventional liposomal encapsulation.

Rather than forcing an ingredient into a delivery system that may not represent its best formulation pathway, PHEDx® begins with the active itself.

    • Its physicochemical behaviour
    • Its formulation challenges
    • Its manufacturing requirements
    • Its long-term stability

Only then is the formulation architecture engineered.

This ingredient-first philosophy allows us to develop delivery systems that are technically appropriate for each active, rather than applying a single technology across every formulation challenge.

Innovation through understanding, not replacement

PHEDx® does not replace SAIFx® liposomal technology.

It complements it.

The same scientific expertise that enabled the development of SAIFx® also revealed where alternative formulation strategies were required.

Understanding where liposomes excel is only half of the equation.

Knowing where they are not the optimal solution is what distinguishes formulation expertise from formulation trend.

Engineering around the active

Every PHEDx® formulation begins with a comprehensive evaluation of the ingredient itself.

We consider factors including:

Physicochemical characteristics

Solubility profile

Particle engineering opportunities

Surface interactions

Compatibility with phospholipid systems

Stability throughout manufacture and shelf life

Scalability and manufacturing robustness

Finished product requirements

Only once these parameters are understood do we engineer the appropriate formulation strategy.

The result is a system designed around the ingredient, not the other way around.

Built by experts in advanced delivery science

PHEDx® could only have been developed by a team with deep experience in phospholipid formulation and nanoencapsulation.

Our work in advanced delivery systems taught us not only what liposomes do exceptionally well, but also where alternative engineering approaches provide a more technically appropriate solution.

That experience allowed us to identify an important gap within formulation science.

PHospholipid Enhanced Delivery

Not every innovation requires a new ingredient.

Sometimes the greatest innovation lies in asking a better formulation question.

PHEDx® represents an evolution in how advanced actives are developed.

Rather than viewing delivery as a single technology, we see it as an engineering discipline, one that begins with understanding the ingredient and selecting the most appropriate formulation architecture to support it.

That philosophy enables us to approach complex formulation challenges with greater flexibility, greater scientific rigour and greater technical precision.

Because true innovation is not about making every ingredient fit the same system.

It is about designing the right system for every ingredient.

From encapsulation to engineering

Our Formulation Philosophy

At GMPriority Pharma, we don’t believe in universal delivery systems.

We believe in universal scientific principles.

Understand the ingredient.

Understand the chemistry.

Understand the formulation.

Then engineer the most appropriate solution.

Sometimes that solution is SAIFx®.

Sometimes it is PHEDx®.

The science decides.
