Scientific Evidence

Academic research detailing the effective nature of liposomal encapsulation.

Since 1962, liposomes have garnered significant attention as spherical vesicles composed of phospholipids. These lipid vesicles are highly valued in biomedical applications due to their ability to encapsulate both hydrophobic and hydrophilic agents, as well as their high biocompatibility and biodegradability.

lipolife liposomal curcumin

Using liposomal curcumin (nano-curcumin) to prevent copper toxicity

Key Researcher: Dr. Wedad Sarawi

Copper is important for many cell functions, but too much can cause problems like oxidative stress and reproductive issues.  This study investigated the use of liposomal nano-curcumin (N-CUR) and regular curcumin (CUR) to protect against the negative impact of copper toxicity.

Both N-CUR and CUR were successful in preventing cell damage. They improved hormone levels, protected against tissue damage, and helped regulate the genes involved in hormone production. Additionally, curcumin reduced markers of oxidative stress and inflammation in the testes and boosted the activity of antioxidants.

The study also found lipolife liposomal curcumin was significantly more effective in comparison to regular curcumin.

Liposomal resveratrol helps reduce damage caused by cancer chemotherapy

Key Researcher: Dr. Abeer Alanazi

The research project looked at whether two substances, carvedilol (CAR) and resveratrol (RES) alone or combined with lipolife liposomal resveratrol  (LIPO-RES), could protect the heart from damage caused by Doxorubicin (DOX), a toxic medication used to treat cancer.

The combination of CAR and LIPO-RES seemed to be the most effective at protecting the heart.

The findings in this study are confirmed by other similar research projects:

This study provides new evidence that CAR, especially when combined with RES or LIPO-RES, can help protect the heart from inflammation, oxidative stress, and problems with calcium regulation caused by DOX treatment.

lipolife liposomal CoQ10

Effectiveness of liposomal CoQ10 against paracetamol-induced liver issues

Key Researcher: Dr. Abeer Alanazi

Paracetamol (PCM) is widely used for its pain-relieving and antipyretic properties. However, acute intoxication of PCM remains one of the most common causes of drug-induced hepatic failure. A comparative study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) with that of lipolife liposomal CoQ10 (L-CoQ10) against PCM-induced liver injury.

Research found that treatment with CoQ10 or L-CoQ10 reduced the harmful effects of PCM and improved liver health, especially with L-CoQ10. Additionally, L-CoQ10 restored normal liver structure.

Measuring glutathione in dietary supplements

Key Researcher: Polonca Nedeljko

The study used a technique called fluorometry, which involves measuring fluorescence (light emitted by a substance when it’s excited by light). Specifically, the researchers used functionalised silica particles (SiO2-SH) along with a chemical called
o-phthaldialdehyde (OPA) to detect GSH.

When shining a light on the glutathione sample at a wavelength of 340nm, and measured the light emitted at 430nm, the researchers could determine the amount of GSH present. The method worked well within a certain concentration range, from 1.0 × 10−7 mol/L to 1.0 × 10−5 mol/L, with a minimum detection limit of 3.4 × 10−7 M.

The researchers successfully used this technique to measure glutathione present in dietary supplements, and the technique worked accurately, showing “excellent recoveries” (meaning it accurately measured the amount of GSH present).

The study suggests this fluorescence method could be used not only for glutathione but also for detecting other substances in food samples; potentially opening up new possibilities for analysing food composition.

The researchers developed a way to accurately measure glutathione in dietary supplements using fluorescence.
The glutathione of choice for this study was lipolife liposomal glutathione.

Neuro-protective properties of liposomal CoQ10

Propionic acid (PPA) is a substance found in food and medications and linked to autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This study aimed to see if acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) and lipolife liposomal coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) could protect against brain damage with ASD-like symptoms caused by PPA.

The results showed lipolife liposomal CoQ10 reduced brain inflammation and cell damage, and improved antioxidant levels.

Pseudo-science reporting to showcase the efficacy of a liposomal supplement without providing evidence is simply hype. GMPriority Pharma perform multiple stability studies for every batch of formula produced to monitor important characteristics such as size, distribution, pH and nutrient assay. The results market themselves.
